District 5 Report - July 2026

I’m Brody, Alcoholic/Addict, District 5 DCM.

Things are great in the southeast corner of the state. We’ve already had a handful of summer events and have a handful more on the schedule to finish out the summer. The Wildbunch group in DuBois is having their annual summer campout at Iron Horse Lake, on August 28th-29th. The Annual 4-State Picnic at Waubonsie St Park, is set for Sunday, September 13th. I’ve been working with Lisa getting a 4-Corners workshop set up in our District. The Workshop will be next month, Sunday, August 9th, in Nebraska City. Flyers are on the table here in the front. We’re focusing on Bridging the Gap and Service Sponsorship, two areas I feel we could use a little help with, in our area. Especially with the local treatment centers and correctional facility in the district. It’s getting put together quickly but coming together nicely. I’m very excited for this event and have high hopes for a great turnout. (I’m an alcoholic/addict, it’s important I keep my expectations in check.) I’m continuing to get to all the groups and trying to make sure information is current. It is more demanding than I originally thought, but far more rewarding than I had imagined. I was invited to the Dubois/Pawnee City business meeting about a month ago. Their goal was to get a structure established; service positions elected and make sure they were following traditions and guidelines. I had our Alt DCM tag along. It was a great experience. The meeting has been around for awhile and been active, but they lacked structure and needed to get back on track. Because of the tools I’ve been given here, Area 41 was able to provide the support the group needed. I’m very grateful for that, grateful for all of you.

Thank you for allowing me to be of service,
Brody H, District 5 DCM
