District 22 Assembly Report - October 2025
Greetings Area 41,
District 22 held elections last week and I’m pleased to say we filled all positions except Alt DCM and Treasurer. Word is we have some interested people coming to our next meeting so hopefully all positions will be filled.
I attended the WCRSF in Omaha a few weeks ago. I was disappointed in the lack of participation from Nebraska and left a bit disheartened at the blatant avoidance from the board regarding several issues brought up. One being the power of the purse and the other being accusations of sexual and non-sexual harassment.
District 22 is looking forward to co-hosting the GSR workshop with District 21 December 14th at St. Matthews Church in Lincoln.
I am incredibly sad to say District 22 lost a GSR to alcoholism. Mike F was the GSR for Our Common Welfare and lost his life to this disease. I am a better person for knowing him and he will be greatly missed.
I have had many growing opportunities the last 2 years. Our District can get a bit spicy sometimes and I have been grateful for the wisdom of our Delegate and Chair in guiding me to being a better leader and listener. Nick said (and I’m paraphrasing) that I listen as though I want you to change my mind. I will carry that with me in the hopes it causes me to pause and really listen.
To wrap this up, my report would not be complete without mentioning Dawn S’s candle flier. Should you want info on what not to do please reach out to her.
Thank you for allowing me to Serve as District 22’s DCM. It has been a pleasure.
Yours in Service, McKenna K.
