Accessibilities, Accommodations, Treatment and Remote Communities Committee Report - April 2025
Greetings Area 41,
The Treatment, Accessibilities, Accommodations and Remote Communities Committee met at 9:00am with 10 people in attendance. We opened with the Serenity prayer. After introductions we read the Scope of our Committee.
The Bridging the Gap function of the Area website is up and running. We have received 6 submissions from individuals in Treatment Centers looking for an A.A. contact. Upon receiving these submissions, I locate the District that the individual will be returning to and reach out to the DCM. Every submission has been fulfilled and I want to express my gratitude to the DCM's for their assistance. In most cases I will start with an email regarding the Bridging the Gap submission but if the individual's release from treatment is imminent I will call the appropriate contacts to expedite the process.
We have also received submissions from fellows simply looking for more information. One of these submissions was from the Lincoln Central Office Bridging the Gap Chair. She was wondering if, instead of contacting the Lincoln DCM's, we could refer all future submissions to their Bridging the Gap Committee. Our Committee agreed with this and I will let her know we will do this moving forward. I also plan to reach out to see if Omaha would like to do the same.
We are also planning to print our own Bridging the Gap pamphlet that is more relevant to Nebraska than the GSO pamphlet. These can be utilized with any Treatment centers that reply to our mailings or any number of other places.
There are no Agenda items assigned to our committee at this time. Thank you for allowing me to serve.
Dean G.,
T.A.A.R.C. Chair
