Responsibilities
The Alternate Delegate supports the Delegate in carrying out their service responsibilities and remains informed about General Service Conference matters and Area business. If the Delegate is unable to attend the Conference, the Alternate serves with all the rights, privileges, and responsibilities of the Delegate until the Delegate is again available.
Responsibilities include:
- Support the Delegate: Work closely with the Delegate, stay informed, and assist with visits, reports, and other service activities as needed.
- Coordinate Area facilities: Serve as Facilities Coordinator for Area 41 Assemblies and the State Convention, including negotiating new contracts for Assembly locations.
- Maintain room-use records: Keep a record of hotel rooms actually used for each Area meeting and State Convention to support facilities planning.
- Support the State Convention: Serve as an assisting Co-Chair of the Convention host committee and work with the committee on its facilities needs.
- Serve as NCYPAA liaison: Maintain communication between Area 41 and the Nebraska Conference of Young People in Alcoholics Anonymous (NCYPAA). This may include attending the annual NCYPAA conference, with expenses handled through Area 41’s normal budgeting procedures.
