Archives Committee Report - April 2025
Archives Committee opened at 908am with a moment of silence for the still suffering alcoholic followed by the Serenity Prayer.
Last quarters Committee Report was read by Donna J-Secretary.
Our Area 41 Archivist reported that she had been busy digitizing group histories, which she then was able to organize by District.
I reported that I had attended the 4-Corners Workshop in St Paul and that it was good to see such a large number of AA'ers! Thanks to District 12 for the excellent hospitality and fellowship.
Next, I attended the WCRAASC in Casper, WY. Area 41 had an amazing turn out there as well. I personally learned a lot from talking to members from other Areas.
I was also able to attend the District 7 CPC/PI Workshop in McCook on March 29th. A lot of idea sharing took place and I ran into members I hadn't seen in about a decade!
We were tasked with providing a display for Area weekend, which allowed the Archives Committee to highlight a larger array of photos, historical memorabilia, and AA factoids encapsulated in plastic eggs (along with a piece of chocolate). I hope everyone had the opportunity to get one and learn a little bit about our AA History. The timeline came directly from our AA.org website.
We moved on to discuss three potential agenda items. One was tabled and two will be submitted for the July Assembly. I'm looking forward to attending the Panhandle Jamboree in Scottsbluff and the Area 41 Reunion & Sober Float in June. We closed at 953qm with 8 members in attendance and the Responsibility Statement.
In Service,
